Being home means being able to enjoy all of the culinary delights of my mother, whose Korean dishes are the best I've ever had. Just because I'm biased doesn't mean it's not true! One of my all time favorite dishes of hers is something like 탕수육 (tahng soo yook) - it's marinated beef strips coated in a potato starch batter and deep fried. Donkatsu or "bulldog" sauce is the dip of choice, but it can also be served sweet and sour style with veggies. My favorite part of watching my mom cook is being able to "taste test" before dinner ;)

Portrait - Danny & Kajsa
Fact: my brother and his high school sweetheart are adorable.
Their chemistry is unique and it gives me the warm fuzzies seeing my brother care so much about another person. Danny is enrolled at the University of Washington as a pre-med student, while Kajsa is going to Central Washington University to study education; both leave in September for classes. I wanted them to have photos to remember each other by, so while I was home for a week I took the opportunity to have a small shoot with them at Point Defiance.

Portrait - Kajsa, Lauren, and Jen
These are photos from back over winter break when I had a photoshoot with long-time friends Kajsa, Lauren and Jen at Titlow Park. These girls have been an inseparable trio for years and have even established the Broom Sweepers Society to solidify this friendship (you'll have to ask them the story behind the name and how it all got started). I had a lot of fun working with these sweet, fun young ladies.

Senior - Kajsa part II
Kajsa and I lucked out today with a few hours of sunshine to finish up her photo session. Kajsa is a member of Curtis' varsity volleyball team and is an active member of her church; after graduation, she plans to study either sign language or psychology at Seattle Lutheran University or Central Washington University. I greatly enjoyed spending this time getting to know my little brother's girlfriend :) Thanks for the good times, Kajsa!

Senior - Andrew
I really enjoyed being able to photograph my best friend's little brother, especially with the weather being so cooperative! Andrew is an honor student at Curtis High School and an experienced member of the school's cross country and track teams. After graduation he plans on attending Brigham Young University in Utah and studying Applied Physics. I remember Andrew when he was just a little kid, and it's so exciting to see him as a senior! Good luck to you this year!

Senior - Kajsa
This photo session incorporated a definite first for me. Last night, Kajsa got the idea to climb up on top of the roof of a covered walkway. I found a building with a window overlooking the walkway and with the help of a borrowed rickety old janitor's ladder, we both managed to climb through the window and out onto the slick tiled roof in the early evening drizzle. It was crazy, but definitely worth it, and we had so much fun getting up there. Here are some shots from yesterday, with more to come later.
