This was a special moment for my friend Carolyn and her brother - their ancestor John Pack is honored in this monument as one of the first LDS pioneers to reach the Salt Lake valley. I recommend visiting this tribute to Utah's history! There are several other monuments and visitors' centers in the vicinity as well - not to mention there's a view from the top of the hill.
